What does it cost to advertise an educational vacancy on EducationCareers.ie?
EducationCareers.ie provides a free vacancy listing service for all DES registered primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Ireland.
Fees apply for all other advertisers, click here for full details.
The additional/optional services including the Featured Job and access to the Substitute Teacher Database are chargeable services to all employers. For full details on these additional services click here.
How do I upload a vacancy?
You can register as an employer on EducationCareers.ie for an account. For security reasons we must approve all accounts prior to activation on our system. Once your account has been reviewed and activated by a member of staff you can log into your EducationCareers.ie account and upload job vacancies.
How do jobseekers apply for vacancies?
Employers have the choice of accepting applications by post, by fax, by telephone or online (via e-mail). Online applications are forwarded directly to the registered e-mail address of the employer with the CV of the jobseeker attached. You can also log into your Employer's Homepage and click "My Vacancies" to view applicants.
Can I upload an application form?
Yes. Employers can upload one application form per vacancy which will be available for jobseekers to download.
We already have an online application process for vacancies, can I link to my own school/college website?
Yes. Your vacancy can contain links to external websites allowing you to direct jobseekers to your own website.
Can my school have multiple accounts?
Yes. Some schools have more than one person dealing with job applications for specific subjects, you sign up for more than one employer account but each account must have its own unique e-mail address.
How does EducationCareers.ie help reduce my vacancy advertising costs?

You can opt to advertise your vacancies solely online which is free for DES Primary & Secondary schools in the Republic of Ireland and considerably more cost effective for other employers compared to printing in the newspaper.

Can I advertise a job without showing any of my details?
Yes. When you upload a job vacancy you can select an option to hide your employer details allowing you to advertise a post anonymously. Employers must accept online applications when chosing to advertise anonymously.

Is EducationCareers.ie a recruitment service for teachers?
No. EducationCareers.ie is a free online portal for schools and teachers to advertise and apply for jobs. We do not know when and where teaching positions in Ireland will become available nor do we liase with schools or jobseekers to match candidates to vacancies. We simply offer employers and jobseekers a common platform to advertise and view current vacancies.
What is the Substitute Teacher Database?
Following feedback from our users we have developed a Substitute Teacher Database which allows jobseekers to upload their details and CV for employers to search by subject and location. Please read full information here
Do I have to register on EducationCareers.ie to view vacancies?
No. Anyone can log onto EducationCareers.ie to see the latest teaching vacancies. You are required to register if you apply online to a vacancy or wish to add your CV to the Substitute Teacher Database. Click here to read the full list of free jobseeker services
How does EducationCareers.ie protect my privacy?
All employers registering on our website must have their account activated by administration before they can log into the site. A member of staff checks all information provided by employers for accuracy.
Employers who subscribe to the substitute teacher database have their details checked again before access is granted to the database.

How can I delete my account?
To remove all of your details from the EducationCareers.ie website you can e-mail info@educationcareers.ie from your registered e-mail address to request account closure.
