An interesting opportunity for new graduates as well as experienced Secondary teachers with A-Level experience to teach Math, Chemistry and Physics in a new Education Centre in Zhongshang City, China. Located in the tropical Southern Province of China, this Centre is run along Western lines with an exciting new concept to China; teachers will prepare selected Chinese students prior to UK A-Level 6th Form studies in schools and colleges in the UK.

Applicants must be qualified teachers with a PGCE or equivalent in one of the subjects taught

Zongshang City, half way between Guangzhou and Macau and connected by a network of fast trains is a more relaxed environment, less crowded, cheaper with a higher standard of living than other large cities in Guangdong Province.

The Centre is seeking single teachers (preference for females) and is offering an initial one year contract and a monthly salary of £1533 taxable at approximately 10%. All nationalities are welcome to apply but applicants should have recent UK A-Level experience while preference will be given to British teachers. Accommodation is in modern, Western styled, furnished studio apartments (no sharing!) A return airticket is provided equivalent to the sum of £1022 and a monthly phone allowance of £5 is paid. Local healthcare is provided and an end of contract bonus dependedent on performance.

The best 'fit' for this living and working context are teachers who are flexible and demonstrate an acceptance of other cultural norms. Candidates should be resilient and outgoing, self-sufficient and independent. Zhongshang City is definitely not a back-water! The city offers much to discerning foreigners; there are threatres, bars and clubs where expatriates typically meet in addition to opportunities for leisure activities with trekking, cycling and running chief amongst these!
